For Physicians

Dear Physician,

If you have questions regarding bacteriophage therapy, our clinic opening schedule, or if you wish to refer a patient -- please contact Dr. Temur Barkalaia at clinic@phagetherapy.com.

Targeted Clinical Pathogens

Bacteriophages can be effective against the following clinical pathogens that are resistant to antibiotics:

Staphylococcus spp.
Enterococcus spp.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris
Streptococcus spp.
Escherichia coli
Salmonella spp.
Shigella spp.
Klebsiella spp.

Efficacy is a function of sensitivity of the infection to phages.  We therefore recommend sending a live bacterial sample, for testing sensitivity, prior to shipping phages to the patient.

Importing Bacteriophages for Patient Use

In the United States the FDA will, at their discretion, allow individuals to import bacteriophage medications. In many countries, no prescription is required. Please contact us for specific procedures.
